Summary: As a video editor, you will be responsible for assembling recorded raw material into a finished product suitable for broadcasting. The material may include camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics, and special effects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Editing raw video footage and adding effects/elements to enhance motion graphics.
2. Trimming footage segments and putting together the sequence of the film.
3. Inputting music, dialogues, graphics, and effects.
4. Creating rough and final cuts.
5. Ensuring logical sequencing and smooth running.
6. Continuously discovering and implementing new editing technologies and the industry s best practices to maximize efficiency.
7. Collaborating with the production team, including directors, producers, and other editors, to ensure the project's vision is realized.
8. Reviewing final edited versions and making necessary adjustments.
9. Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
10. Occasionally participating in brainstorming sessions to share new ideas and strategies for effective video content.
Requirements:
1. Proven work experience as a video editor.
2. Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.).
3. Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio.
4. Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity.
5. Creative mind and storytelling skills.
6. Excellent communication skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Flexibility to work long hours and weekends if necessary to meet project deadlines.
9. Degree in film studies, cinematography, or related field is preferred but not required.
